Morality Definition

Morality definition is worth learning and remembering when dealing with ethics in life.  Sooner or later either in a positive or a negative way the meaning of ethics will surface. The only only way to create absolute values and rules in ethical conduct is through the quality of morality. It is about definition of human conduct, what is morally speaking good fruit, and what is morally speaking rotten and decayed.

Ethics (also known as moral philosophy) is that branch of philosophy which addresses questions about morality. The word ‘ethics’ is “commonly used interchangeably with ‘morality’ … and sometimes it is used more narrowly to mean the moral principles of a particular tradition, group, or individual.

Morality In its descriptive sense

Morality” refers to personal or cultural values, codes of conduct or social mores. It does not connote objective claims of right or wrong, but only refers to that which is considered right or wrong. Descriptive ethics is the branch of philosophy which studies morality in this sense.

Moral realism

Is the class of theories which hold that there are true moral statements that report objective moral facts. For example, while they might concede that forces of social conformity significantly shape individuals’ “moral” decisions, they deny that those cultural norms and customs define morally right behavior.

I believe in absolutes and in the knowable objective truth. Truth being a refined quality, or purity of the essential basic facts.
Without objective truth and the inquisitive mind you would not be reading this from a computer screen. Community life on the planet earth would still be at the Stone Age level.

It was the inquisitive mind of the homo sapiens for objective truth during the stone age that enabled them to make tools and weapons, tools and weapons for objective goals and purpose.

It was the reality of their condition and the environment that pushed their skills and creativity for survival to develop and to succeed in life. To knit and fashion clothing, to construct housing and shelters, rafts, canoes and boats for travel along and across water ways.

It was the inquisitive mind and the quest for objective truths that made humanity to; search, value strength, purity and concentrations of raw materials. The early age humans could see, smell, feel and taste the difference, as in the sky and the water that they drank, and also with the materials that they used.

It became important in the manufacturing of tools and weapons, objective truth was also an indicator of the density and durability of the material. As in certain types of fabric materials and wood materials. Later on the heat of a fire melted and separated the hard metals from the minerals and stone. Again it was another objective truth reward for a manufacturing purpose.

It was the objective truth in communication and the search for meaning that the written symbols appeared, and later developed into numbers and the written alphabet that people and computers use today in various forms.

The objective goals along with reliable truth of science as a guide made the computer language possible, and the working computer a reality.

The same can be applied to the study of human anatomy and physiology, and how it is connected to food and nutrition, and optimal health.

In a similar way the absolutes are needed for the study of the human psychology, and moral responsibility. Actions are real, actions have consequence, and usually have an effect on the personality of the person doing the deed, as well on the social environment. Whether a positive deed (value adding), or a negative deed (consume others moral contribution, and create a vacuum).

For those that object to the concept of objective truth, here is something to think about.
Today we use clothing, tools and materials, boats and canoes for similar reason that the people used during the Stone Age. They had clothing, they used feet sole coverings, especially in the cold winter climates, boats and canoes and also tools for cutting food and utensils for eating food.

Why is it that we today don’t use the same type of clothing, feet sole coverings, boats and canoes, tools and utensils that the people of the Stone Age used.

I would say that we don’t use the same materials because of the inquisitive mind has been creative for objective truth and for problem solving.
Humanity has discovered that objective truth does provide answers to common problems.

For the problem of cold feet during the winter snow and ice, they fashioned animal hide for the sole of their feet. Today we use leather for leather sandals. Since then rubber was discovered and used for the sole of shoes and sandals. Synthetic materials from were also discovered and used as a long lasting durable materials for shoe soles.

Animals fur clothing during of the Stone Age would have represented the regional brand by the colors and stripes of the animal species. Africans had their own brand and animal species including the big cats and zebra. The northern hemisphere countries had their brown bear, deer, fox, wolf and the buffalo. Animal furs are often replaced by synthetic materials, the benefits are many, lighter materials, cheaper to produce, easier to manipulate and more manageable.

Boat and canoe building in most part are made from; wood timber, rubber, plastic, metal and fiberglass. Objective truth is that by searching and refining raw materials, they can be more pliable, durable and useable for the every day use. It was the result of the refining process, or purification process, that has improved the quality of the raw materials for a specific use and purpose.

So what does progress have to do with the question of Morality?

The same principle applies, morality can be refined and purified, separately observed as quality or a condition. It can be changed either way by the will of the mind.
Moral decisions change the destiny of the intended action, making the result either more refined (moral), or even corrupted (immoral).

So for the purpose of this web site article, it is applied to the action of lying, lying Internet marketers. In most cases they know they are lying (suppression), and they may even be lying to themselves (repression).

But to be aware of the fact that they lie, even blatantly lie to your face (or anybody else who happens to stop by, and click on their spin), then that knowledge can keep you out of the their money trap.
